Extended Care Homes
In 2001 and 2002, two new homes were constructed on the property. These homes each provide 5,000 square feet of living space for up to ten children each. The hogan shaped living room with central fireplace leads to the kitchen, dining room, and two wings of bedrooms.
Each home is staffed by a houseparent couple. The children who stay in these homes are coming from families who, for various reasons, are faced with problems that are making their natural home unsafe.
Some of their parents are involved in substance abuse treatment programs. These youngsters are often placed at Four Corners Home for Children for a year or two or until they can either be safely restored to their natural families, or placed into other suitable living arrangements.
Your monthly gift of $25 provides financial support for an entire family. Sponsors are sent a picture and biographical information regarding the family and are encouraged to build a relationship through cards and letters.
A picture and biographical information of the houseparent family along with your monthly receipt letter contains updates on family activities so that you will be better able to pray for their needs. Please feel free to correspond with the housemother for more information, because the children placed here are from Navajo Social Services names cannot be released.
